Bahawalnagar: Breach in canal inundates villages, agricultural land
A 200-foot wide breach in Hakra Canal near Bahawalnagar inundated several villages on Thursday.
BAHAWALNAGAR (Dunya News) – A 200-foot wide breach in Hakra Canal in Bara Sajwar Khan area near Bahawalnagar on Thursday flooded several villages and destroyed crops on hundreds of acres of agricultural land, Dunya News reported.
Residents of the area started rescue work on self-help basis and are trying to plug the breach as irrigation department personnel failed to reach the spot.
On the other hand, a police team reached the site of the breached and participated in rescue operation.
