Saudi aviation authority fines PIA SR0.5 million

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Saudi aviation authority has fined Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Saudi Riyal (SR) 0.5 million over violating the aviation rules at the airport.

As per details made available here, PIA unloaded the luggage of pilgrims at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport instead of offloading it at the Hajj terminal.

The pilgrims protested at the Hajj terminal upon not receiving their belongings, and Saudi aviation authority took notice of the incident, and fined SR1 lac per flight.

Saudi aviation authority has also issued a warning to PIA that action will be taken against the airline along with fine if the violation is committed again in the future. PIA has also been directed to pay the fine immediately.
