'No single sentence which points out corruption committed by Nawaz Sharif'

PM said that governments have always been dismissed on corruption charges and security risks.

ISLMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday has said that there was not a single word on corruption against me in the report submitted by Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in Panama Leaks case.

Chairing a meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) parliamentary leaders, the premier said he refused to do National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in Musharraf era despite several efforts.

He said that governments have always been dismissed on corruption charges and security risks and that the Sharif family has been targeted over its business matters spanning over sixty two years with assumptions and allegations.

Nawaz Sharif said we launched operation against terrorists with the consultation of armed forces and backbone of terrorists has been broken. He said economy of the country is progressing and if there would be no negative politics, hopefully we will achieve the growth rate of six and seven percent and even beyond.

Various PML-N’s parliamentary leaders including enraged Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan and Armaghan Subhani also attended the session. The participants welcomed the premier with clapping.

It is the fourth high-level meeting to take place since Monday when JIT submitted the report in Supreme Court (SC) on against Sharif family.  

Earlier on Thursday, PM Nawaz, while chairing the Federal Cabinet meeting, said that the language used in the report has shown dishonesty of the investigation team. He said that we are running family business since 1937.

PM also termed final report submitted by Panama JIT as based only on assumptions and accusations.

The meeting also discussed overall political, security and economic situation in the country whereas it also approved terms and conditions of the appointment of Member Gas, and Member Oil of Oil and Gas of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.  

The premier said that he will neither dissolve assemblies nor resign but, will fight a legal war in the case. He ordered to constitute a legal team under the supervision of advocate Khawaja Harris whereas the already formed legal team that includes Barrister Zafarullah Khan and Anousha Rehman will assist Khawaja Harris and will prepare a document after thoroughly analyzing the JIT report.
