Heavy snowfall halts life in Chitral

A heavy and continual snowfall has halted life in upper areas of Chitral. Increase in power load shedding has become a panic for the residents

The continual and heavy snowfall in different areas of Chitral has created a difficult situation in Chitral. All local routes are blocked and the contact with other areas is disconnected.According to the weather forecast department, the snow cover was 1 to 6 inches today which further intensified the cold weather.The residents are trapped in houses due to disconnection of land routes, whereas, flights arrival and departure has been suspended in Chitral due to bad weather.Moreover load shedding duration up to 16 hours has further increased the difficulties of the residents.
