Six passengers dead, 24 wounded as van catches fire in Multan
Bodies and the wounded were shifted to nearby hospitals
MULTAN (Dunya News) – A passenger van caught fire on Sunday near Head Muhammadwala area claiming lives of 6 travelers and wounding 24.
Rescue officials reported that the injured and the bodies were shifted to Nishtar Hospital where state of emergency was imposed after the incident.
According to the police, the fire was caused by a short circuit. Reportedly, the van was enroute Multan from Chowk Sarwar Shaheed. Details have it that 40 persons of a family, on board two vans, were travelling to Multan from Muzaffargarh for picnic.



Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif has offered his condolences to the brieving families and directed authorities concerned to ensure the best treatment to the injured passengers.
CM Shehbaz has summoned a report from the authorities over the issue.
