MNA Jamshed Dasti had accused police of torturing him inside the jail and being exposed to scorpions

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has taken notice of MNA Jamshed Dasti’s allegations regarding torture in the prison.

Justice Shah has ordered, on Thursday, the Sargodha Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) session judge and Dera Ghazi Khan ATC judge to submit report of the incident of alleged torture and inhumane behaviour.

A video of Jamshed Dasti became viral in which he complains about torture and scorpions in his barrack. Several leaders including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan reacted to the video. Kaptaan said, “Disgusting! Fascism of Sharifs as they carry forward their political godfather Zia s dictatorial legacy while feigning sincerity.”

Earlier, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah also took notice of his claims and constituted a medical board to verify whether there are any bruises.

It should be recalled that Dasti and Meharpur Union Council (UC) Chairman Malik Ajmal were arrested by Punjab police for forcibly opening canal in Muzaffargarh.
