Raymond sent to jail for 14 days

A court in Lahore has sent the dual killing accuse Raymond Davis, a US citizen, to the Kot Lakhpat Jail on a14-day judicial remand on Friday. Police submitted the initial investigation report of the case to the court.

The police produced Raymond in the court of Judicial Magistrate Aneeq Chaudhary. The defense lawyers submitted two applications to the court and said that Raymond killed both the men in self defense. They said that he also had the diplomatic immunity so he should be released. The court adjourned the hearing till February 25 and sought the government’s stance on the diplomatic status of the US citizen.Earlier, the police produced Raymond to the court amid tight security. He was brought to the Model Town lower courts building in an armoured car. Police have blocked all the roads coming to the courts building. The media was also not allowed to cover the court proceedings.
