LHC issues injunction against privatisation of three major airports

CAA had invited proposals from international companies to privatise airports.

LAHORE (Dunya News)- Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday has issued injunction against privatisation of country’s three major airports including Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to details, stay order was issued by LHC Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on petition filed by employees of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) seeking a halt to privatisation process.

Petition states that federal government is going to privatise three major and profitable airports and a tender has also been issued in this regard.

It should be recalled that CAA had on February 7 invited proposals from international companies to privatise three airports in Pakistan identified as the New Islamabad International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, and Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
