A mass marriage ceremony was arranged in Nankana distirct where 101 poor girls were married. Rs 100,000 dowry was also given to each bride.

A social worker Sofi Muhammad Anwar Madni took the responsibility of sponsoring the marriage of poor girls in Nankana. He also gets support from other well-off people. At the mass matrimony ceremony in the mor khanda village, 101 deserving girls were married by the support of charitable men. Grooms and their friends celebrated the occasion by dancing and singing. While’ the brides, wearing traditional Pakistani wedding dresses, shined the ceremony. The parents said that this mass matrimony was a great financial relief for them.Provincial minister Abdul Ghafor was also invited at the ceremony. The minister appreciated Sofi Mohammad’s efforts of sponsoring poor girls’ marriage.
