Lahore: Traffic wardens beat citizens, 2 cases reported

A traffic warden of the Lahore City police has beaten a citizen named Usman, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

Two reports have been recived of traffic wardens beating up citizens.Rather than ensuring road safety the traffic wardens have started taking the law into their own hands.As per details, Usman was going to Data Darbar with his relatives. When he reached near the Darbar, police had barricaded the road, on that Usman asked the warden for diversion. On that warden got furious and started beating Usman. With the help of the police, the traffic warden took usman to the police station and filed a first information report against victim, Usman.In another incident, Hassan Iqbal was taking a relative to the hospital when a traffic warden stopped him because one ofthe headlights was not working. upon quarrelling, the traffic warden beat him up and the victim recieved a head injury.
