Iranian Foreign Minister calls on PM Nawaz
Both the leaders discussed matters relevant to bilateral relations and regional issues
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Javad Zarif has on Wednesday met Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad, reported Dunya News.
Both the leaders discussed matters relevant to bilateral relations and regional issues at the occasion.
Moreover, the issues of regional peace and stability also came under discussion during the meeting.
At the occasion, PM Nawaz expressed his satisfaction over enhancing high level exchanges between the two countries in order to strengthen mutual cooperation in various fields.
The prime minister stressed upon the need for collaborative efforts from both the countries for achieving the bilateral target of 5 billion dollars as soon as possible.
PM Nawaz Sharif expressed his hope that both Pakistan and Iran will continue to expand economic interaction in order to promote helpful cooperation in the field of trade, investment, energy and connectivity.
The prime Minister also expressed his condolences over the tragic incident that took place in the Iranian province of Sistan Balochistan involving martyrdom of 11 Iranian border security guards on April 26, 2017.
At the occasion, Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Javad Zarif expressed his thanks to the prime minister and the government of Pakistan for their efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and also enhancing trade and economic cooperation.
Dr. Zarif also conveyed the desires of Iranian government for continued efforts in strengthening the bilateral ties.
