PPP walked out over Zardari's friends going missing, MQM staged walkout for blocking on NICs

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday staged a walkout from National Assembly (NA). PPP staged walkout over the issue of former President Asif Zardari’s friends going missing while MQM staged the walkout over the blocking of National Id cards of its workers, reported Dunya News.

National Assembly also adopted a resolution demanding that the education of Quran be declared compulsory in the educational institutions. State minister for education and technical training Baleegh ur-Rehman said that the teaching Quran was not only ‘our religious duty but a constitutional duty as well’.

According to the bill, teaching Quran will be compulsory till 5th class and translation should taught from sixth to twelfth standard. He told that Islamic Ideological Council (IIC) was also consulted on the matter. The bill will be implemented on all Islamabad public and private sector schools.
