AD Khawaja honest but will support PML-N in election: Faisal Vawda
Entire team under AD Khawaja is provincial govt's team, and they are all corrupt, says PTI leader
LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda has on Monday alleged Sindh police Inspector General (IG) AD Khawaja of reporting directly to federal government, instead of the provincial government, and expressed fear that he’d support Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in the coming election, reported Dunya News.
Talking on Dunya News program ‘On the Front’, Faisal Vawda said that AD Khawaja’s honesty was beyond doubt and dispute but the entire team under him was still heavily corrupt and thus no visible changes were made in the Sindh police under him.
Faisal Vawda said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was angry with AD Khawaja mainly because he reported only to the federal government and didn’t take orders from the provincial government or anyone else other than the federal government.
He added that Shahid Hayat was an excellent officer as neither was he corrupt nor did he make any appointments overlooking merit. He said that the same could not be said about AD Khawaja. He added that with a team favoured by PPP and an IG reporting directly to the federal government, free and fair election could not be expected.
