Former KP IG challenged the newly appointed IG of KP Salahuddin Mehsud in IHC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – After Sindh, the appointment of police Inspector General (IG) has become controversial in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as well. The acting KP IG Akhtar Shah has challenged the appointment of Salahuddin Mehsud as the new KP IG in Islamabad High Court.

Also, the court issued notices to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IG and establishment secretary division for replies on the situation.

According to Akhtar Shah, Salahuddin Mehsud is a grade 20 officer, hence he cannot be given the post of IG. Currently, the province of KP consists of six grade 21 officers.

The acting KP IG declared the move illegal. While suspending the court proceedings, Justice Amir Farooq has summoned the contestants on April 5.
