President approves Hindu Marriage Bill 2017
Under the law, Hindu families will have constitutional protection, President Mamnoon approved law
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – President Mamnoon Hussain on Sunday approved Hindu Marriage Bill 2017. Under the new law, Hindu families will have constitutional protection, reported Dunya News.
President Mamnoon Hussain signed the bill upon Prime Minister’s recommendation after which this law has come into effect from today.
In his statement regarding the bill, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that all the minorities have equal rights in Pakistan. He further added that this bill will help the Hindu community have constitutional protection for their families and marriages.
PM announced that the government will appoint a registrar for the marriages of Hindus. He cleared that the government sees the minorities as equal Pakistanis and had no misgivings about their commitment with Pakistan.
