ECP: Disqualification references against Imran, Tareen not decided yet

ECP adjourned the hearing till March 16, PTI holds the ruling PML-N responsible for delay

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya New3s) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the disqualification references against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and senior PTI leader Jahangir Tareen Khan till March 16, reported Dunya News.

PTI held the ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) responsible for the delay. ECP chief Sardar Raza has said that the arguments in the references against Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen have been completed and the new petitions will now be heard on March 8.

After the hearing, PML-N leader Danyal Aziz said that huge revelations have been made during the hearing. On the other hand, PTI spokesperson Naeem ul-Haque held the opponent lawyer responsible for the delay.

PML-N has requested the election commission to disqualify Imran Khan over contradictory claims regarding his Bani Gala residence in the tax returns and Jahangir Tareen for getting loans written off during the former president Pervez Musharraf’s era.
