PTI submits resolution in Punjab Assembly against petroleum price hike
Mehmood-ur-Rasheed demanded federal government to revert this decision.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Leader of Opposition of Punjab Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has submitted a resolution Monday against petroleum price hike in Punjab Assembly.
The resolution states that the increase in petroleum price is unreasonable and it will result in overall inflation.
Mehmood-ur-Rasheed demanded federal government to revert this decision.
Prices of petroleum products were escalated on Sunday after Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) forwarded a summary to the ministry.
Federal Minister for Finance had announced to increase price of petrol by Rs 1.77 per liter and price of high speed diesel by Rs 2 per liter, while kerosene and light diesel will maintain same price until January 31.
Informing further on the matter, Dar said that the price of petrol was hiked not more than that recommended by OGRA.
Sources privy to the ministry have reported that prices of high octane, light speed diesel and kerosene are likely to be increased as well from February 1.
Another adjournment was moved by Saadia Sohail Rana of PTI over expensive purchase of hepatitis medicines.
It has been said in the adjournment movement that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has purchased Sofiget tablet that is used to cure hepatitis for 48.88 rupees, whereas, Punjab government has bought the same medicine for 55 rupees.
Saadia Sohail Rana demanded to discuss this matter in assembly so that the facts could be revealed.
