Karachi: 12-year-old dies as elevator shaft falls on him
Zain was the only child of his parents.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - In a tragic incident in Saddar’s Rainbow Centre, a 12-year-old child was killed when an elevator shaft fell on him.
The deceased was identified as Zain who was the only child of his parents.
Locals offered funeral prayers of the child and later his body was sent to Quetta, from where it would be shifted to Pishin for last rites.
According to residents of the building, Zain’s mother has not been informed about the sad demise yet.
Commenting on the incident, police said three to four elevators in the residential building were dysfunctional. The only functional elevator of the building was in a dilapidated condition.
Police have summoned administration of the building for interrogation.
