Wreckage of PIA flight PK-661 removed

Plane's debris would be taking to Islamabad under the supervision of PIA and Civil Aviation.

ABBOTTABAD (Dunya News) – Wreckage of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661 that got crashed near Havelian has been removed.

According to details, the plane’s debris would be taking to Islamabad under the supervision of PIA and Civil Aviation officials.

Contractors were appointed to clean the rubble of the national airlines‘ aircraft.

On December 7, flight PK-661 was crashed near Havelian after one of its two turboprop engines reportedly failed while travelling from Chitral to Islamabad, killing 48 people on board. 

Rescuers, including hundreds of villagers, had overnight pulled badly burned remains from the smoldering wreckage of the aircraft near the village of Saddha Batolni.

Famous religious scholar Junaid Jamshed also lost his life in the crash while all the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the relatives after identification process through DNA tests.
