Bin Laden's killing: Justice (r) Javed Iqbal demands govt to make report public
'Situation would have been different if recommendations of Abbottabad commission were paid heed'
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Justice (r) Javed Iqbal, head of commission formed to probe United States (US) operation in Abbottabad in 2011 has demanded the government on Monday to make his report and recommendations public.
In a statement issued today, Justice (r) Javed said that he has identified those responsible while has forwarded recommendations to the government. Chief of the commission briefed Senate’s standing committee for Interior today.
During his address, he said that the situation would have been different today if recommendations of Abbottabad commission were paid heed to.
The commission’s head also briefed the committee over missing persons. He said that there were no evidence against chiefs of intelligence agencies thus how could they be summoned.
Justice (r) Javed complained that investigators were not being cooperated with as much as it was expected. He asserted that not even heads of institutions would be spared if they are found involved.
US navy seals conducted an operation in Abbottabad on May 2, 2011 near Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) and attacked a compound killing 9/11 plotter, Osama Bin Laden, chief of Al-Qaeda.
