PM Nawaz expresses satisfaction over CPEC projects' progress

Almost all major highways of the country would be connected with motorways

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction on Wednesday regarding projects that are being constructed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The premier chaired a meeting in the federal capital and reviewed progress regarding laying network of highways in the country.

During the meeting, the premier said that reserving huge amounts of funds for development of backward areas shows government’s seriousness towards welfare of the people. He said that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would rise by at least one percent to 1.5 percent after completion of different highway projects.

He said that for the first time country’s history, around Rs 1 billion were reserved to better road infrastructure.

PM Nawaz further said that almost all major highways of the country would be connected with motorways of at least four to six lanes.
