By-election in NA-258 to be held on November 24
PML-N has not fielded any candidate while PTI has boycotted to by-election.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – National Assembly constituency NA-258 consists of Malir and Gudap areas of Muslimabad, Ibaheem Haidri, Rahreh Goth, Keatal Colony, Gulshan Hadeed, Baloch Goth and other adjacent localities.
This constituency was considered as the stronghold of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) but Hakim Baloch of Pakistan Muslim League won this seat it the 2013 general elections. The seat fell vacant when Hakim Baloch resigned and joined PPP.
Hakim Baloch is now contesting by-election from this constituency on PPP ticket. MQM’s Mumtaz Ali Imrani, JUI-F’s Maulana Akran Shah and Sunni Tehreek’s Munawar Ali Gabol are among the 16 candidates in the field.
Pakistan Muslim League has not fielded any candidate for the seat while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has boycotted the by-election.
