Dismissed minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi on Tuesday said that had the allegations leveled on him genuine, he would have resigned earlier. He also called for evidence regarding the corruption allegations on him in Hajj arrangements. Addressing an Urs ceremony of Khawaja Muhammad Shafi at Lahore, Kazmi maintained that those accusing him of corruption are themselves are not upright people. Being a minister I cannot give statements against the allies, he stated and added that but now I can justify myself before the public. Kazmi said, I am not fond of worldly positions; ministry can be taken back from me but not the public support. Later, while talking to media, Kazmi said the allegations leveled on me are baseless. Replying to a question, he said that investigations would reveal the truth; and added that those at the helm should identify the the accused and the culprit. A particular lobby wanted to dislodge me from the religious ministry and they remained successful, the ex-minister asserted and added that a worst media trial was initiated against him.
