Further evidence found against Faisal Raza Abidi: police
Abidi was detained by police last week after police raided his residence
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Additional Inspector General (AIG), Mushtaq Mehr on Monday has said that further evidence was found against Faisal Raza Abidi, former senator from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) who was arrested last week.
He said that a crackdown was launched against banned religious outfits and certain groups were protesting as a pressure tactic.
Mehr said that Sindh Police were pursuing action against different banned outfits on basis of evidence. The AIG told that Abidi was arrested for possession of unlicensed weapons at his residence.
However, he added that there were more cases against him. AIG Mehr vowed to continue operation against extremist outfits without succumbing to the pressure.
Abidi was detained by police last week after police raided his residence and found him in possession of unlicensed weapons.
