Firing on mourners' gathering leaves five dead in Karachi
Police have reported that two motorcyclists rode to the attack site and opened fire
KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least five persons were killed and four injured after two unidentified miscreants targeted mourners gathered in Nazimabad area in connection with month of Muharram on Saturday.
Sources have stated that the five deceased included four brothers. Police have reported that two terrorists rode motorcycle to the attack site and opened fire.
Bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) to submit a report.
However, according to the police, the participants had not informed the department of a gathering in the area which was why there were no security arrangements.
Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack and directed authorities to arrest those responsible.
