Police apprehend Faisal Wada from protest in Karachi

Karachi (Dunya News) – Heavy traffic jams could be seen as one of the busiest highways of Karachi i.e., Shahrah-e-Faisal was blocked owing to the protests held by employees of Pakistan Steel Mills, civil society, participants of Pakistan Zindabad rally and Tehreek-i-Nojawan Pakistan, reported Dunya News. Due to blockade of the famous highway, most of the vehicles that also included ambulances and prisoner vans were trapped. Most of the citizens suffered due to the situation that arose all of a sudden due to the blockade. In addition, passengers and flight attendants also failed to make it to the airport and the locals also had to travel on foot for hours.
The demonstration was held by civil society and Tehreek-i-Nojawan Pakistan to lodge protests against Kashmir attrocities, Nawaz-Modi friendship, Panama Leaks, corruption and other issues. The protest continued till evening and was also joined by Faisal Wada. PTI leader lambasted government and the premier over Panama Leaks.
However, Police had to take action in order to clear the traffic jam and SSP Malir Rao Anwar along with his team arrived at the scene.
The mob was lathi-charged and dispersed by police and the highway was opened for traffic henceforth. Meanwhile, police also arrested PTI leader Faisal Wada and was subsequently shifted to Airport Police Station.
SSP Rao Anwar told that a case would be filed against Faisal Wada under sections that include interference in government matters, blockade of roads and others.
On the other hand, PTI spokesperson commented that the non-serious acts of Faisal Wada created difficulties for the general public. PTI Imran Ismail disowned those protests. He further told that Faisal Wada was part of these protests as a normal citizen and not on the behalf of PTI.
