ECP issues notices to Imran

The petition revealed that Imran failed to mention his offshore companies
Islamabad (Dunya News) – Election Commission issued notices to Imran and Jehangir Tareen in disqualification case, reported Dunya News. The filed references against them were acknowledged by the election commission and notices were issued to both the PTI leaders as a result.
According to the details, Lawyer Shah Nawaz Dhaloo filed a petition in which he was of the opinion that Imran failed to mention his offshore companies when he filed disclosure returns in the Election Commission. The petition also stated that Imran Khan failed to comply with Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution and that is why should be disqualified from the National Assembly. The reference further elaborated that by establishing an offshore company; Imran not only concealed his assets but also failed to pay tax on them.
The Election Commission also linked party’s funds misappropriation case with Panama Leaks and postpone the ruling until September 28. Here it is also worth mentioning that the petition regards to misappropriation in party’s funds was filed by PTI leader S Akbar. The chief election commissioner told PTI lawyer that in party’s misappropriation case PTI did not see Election Commission involvement fit; however, the same opinion was reversed in case of Panama Leaks.
On the other hand, petition against the premier were ruled out due to insufficient grounds. However, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and finance minister Ishaq Dar were directed to submit their pleas prior to September 28.
