RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Awami Muslim League will flex political muscles on Saturday in the twin cities as a joint rally has been scheduled.

Around 2,000 police personnel have been deployed across Rawalpindi and Islamabad for ‘foolproof’ security arrangements and high-alert has been issued.

The rally will begin at Liaquat Bagh on Murree Road and move to its destination, Rehmanabad.

Different groups of political activists will convene in Rehmanabad where senior members of different political parties including Sheikh Rasheed will address the participants.

Metro bus service is entirely suspended across its route in Islamabad and Rawalpindi while Murree Road is shut for all kinds of traffic from Liaquat Bagh to Faizabad.

Law enforcement agencies have conducted search operations in different hotels, hostels, railways stations, bus stands and other installations to foil any possible terror bid.

Doctors and staffers of Allied hospitals have been instructed to resume their duties and cancel vacation. Among all the arrangements, security in red zone has also been tightened.

Law enforcement agencies had detained over 70 suspects in two different operations in Sohala and Tarnol areas on Friday.
