Rangers was operating without 'legal cover' but PPP did not utter a word: Interior Ministry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Ministry spokesperson on Wednesday stated that speculations over Sindh government’s rejected summary regarding Rangers’ policing powers were baseless and further said that legal experts only highlighted contradictions in the summary, reported Dunya News.

The spokesperson also revealed that neither the ministry had rejected the summary nor there was any announcement made in this regard. The experts only underlined the contradictions in the summary and Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) criticism over the ministry was beyond comprehension, experts stated.

He further stated that for two weeks, Rangers had been operating in Karachi without any extensive powers but PPP did not utter a word at that time which again was astonishing for the ministry.
