Khyber Agency: 27 die as flash floods sweep van carrying wedding guests
24 people died on spot whereas three were transferred to a hospital who lost their lives there
KHYBER AGENCY (Dunya News) – Death toll of the number of individuals who lost their lives while being swept away by flash floods while travelling in a van rose to 27. Women and children were also reported to be among those who died because of the incident, reported Dunya News.
The driver of the unfortunate van was able to escape by jumping out of the vehicle. The passengers were travelling from Barra to Bazar Zakhakhel in order to attend a wedding but the van was swept away by flash floods near the area of Tabai.
28 people were travelling in the van including women and children. Teams related to the political administration kicked off rescue efforts after reaching the area where the incident occurred.
