Teachers continue protest outside Punjab Assembly on fourth day

They have demanded the government to cancel privatization proposal
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Teachers, employed in different provincial schools have carried on their protest outside the assembly on fourth day, reported Monday.
The protesters have said that the demonstrations would not end until government withdraws stance over proposed privatization of schools.
Teachers from schools situated in all over the province have maintained that the government is privatizing different schools putting teachers’ jobs in jeopardy besides hiked tuition fees.

They have demanded the government to annul the proposal and cancel privatization.
Protesting teachers further said that the demonstration would continue until a written statement is not forwarded by the government.
The continuous protests on Mall Road have irked the citizens as they face difficulties in moving on the roads everyday. Earlier, young nurses ended their five-day protest against the department concerned after successful negotiation.

The staffers had demanded approval of service structure and health allowance.
Before that farmers belonging to Kissan Ittehad had taken the place which the government took around four days to vacate after talks.
