LAHORE (Dunya News) - Opposition parties have unanimously submitted a resolution seeking Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s immediate resignation in Punjab Assembly, reported on Tuesday.

The resolution was presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Sardar Shahab-ud-Din Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) Sardar Waqas Hassan.

The resolution stated that PM Nawaz Sharif failed to answer opposition parties’ seven questions during address in National Assembly. The parties demanded the PM to resign on immediate basis so that the investigation can get started.

Earlier in a much-awaited address, PM Nawaz said that he has nothing to hide, adding that he is ready for accountability on every level.

Talking on Panama leaks issue, PM Nawaz said he addressed the nation before any of opposition’s demands and presented himself for accountability even when friends told him it was not needed.

He said he announced to form judicial commission headed by retired judge but was rejected. He said he wrote of Chief Justice alerting him of opposition’s demand.

Nawaz Sharif said he wants the real story of those who got their loans written off and evaded taxes to come out, adding that those who travel in lavish cars, jets and helicopters also need to get investigated.

The Prime Minister said that not a single penny of his money was taken abroad whether it’s London flat or property in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
