COAS meets US Central Command head, discusses key issues
Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interests and professional issues
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has met Head of American Central Command, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has stated on Monday, reported Dunya News.
Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interests and professional issues including security situation in Afghanistan.
On this occasion, General Joseph praised Pakistan army’s efforts for regional stability and peace in the region. He also laid flowers at the martyr’s monument to pay tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan army. On his arrival at General Headquarters (GHQ), he received guard of honour from Pakistan army’s active contingent.
General Joseph also met Defence Secretary. According to Defence Ministry spokesperson, Defence Secretary raised the issue of reservations regarding F-16 fighter jets and assured General Joseph that the jets will be used against terrorism. He also raised the issues regarding Coalition Support Fund.
