CTD In-Charge accused of providing interrogation report to political party

High officials have approved the formation of an inquiry committee to probe the matter.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Counter Terrorism Department s (CTD) In-Charge of Intelligence wing, Ali Raza, was accused Sunday of providing the interrogation reports of suspects to a political party. High officials have approved the formation of an inquiry committee to probe the matter after Dunya News highlighted the issue.

According to the police officials, the inquiry decision was made in light of the interrogation of significant worker of a political party, Umair Siddqui. The inquiry committee will comprise of Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) CTD Arif Hanif and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) CTD Intelligence Amir Farooqi.

The inquiry committee has also summoned Ali Raza for clarification over the matter. Police officials have stated that action will be conducted against Raza if the accusations against him are proved.

The committee will present the report to Additional Inspector-General (IG) CTD Sanaullah Abbasi once completed.
