Ishaq Dar denies meeting with Panama's Finance Minister
Finance Ministry says reports regarding Dar's contact with Panamanian Foreign Ministry are baseless
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Ministry authorities deny claim regarding Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s meeting with his Panamanian counterpart, reported Dunya News.
Finance Ministry clarified that Dar made no contacts with Panama’s Foreign Ministry and that the reports being proliferated through the media in this regards are inaccurate.
Earlier, while being interviewed by an American journalist, Panama’s Finance Minister claimed that Ishaq Dar had met him. He stated in an interview that he recently met Pakistan’s Finance Minister and that both of them had never met before.
“He (Ishaq Dar) said to me that after the Panama Papers (surfaced), you are heading towards difficult times. I told him that you are right but I can tell you how we are running our economy which will give you a different impression”, said the Panamanian Finance Minister during the interview.
