MQM accused of RAW funding, JIT recalls Sarfraz for investigation
The team will examine Merchant's statement and will continue to investigate the case further.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Joint Investigation Team (JIT), working under Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) anti-terrorism wing s Head Mazhar-ul-Haq Kaka Khail, has started its investigation against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over accusations of money laundering and taking funds from RAW, reported Dunya News.
Sources revealed that JIT has called recalled Sarfraz Merchant for investigation. Merchant has shown conditional willingness to come to Pakistan, if provided security.
The government formed JIT is supervised by Head of anti-terrorism wing Mazhar-ul-Haq and includes 1 officer from IB, 2 from ISI and Raja Tahir Iqbal from Sindh Rangers. The team will examine Merchant’s statement and will continue to investigate the case further. JIT will be presenting the report in 1 week.
