The Awami National Party (ANP) has announced to boycott the by-elections for PS-94 Orangi Town, Karachi, Dunya News reported on Saturday. The decision has been taken in the meeting of ANP think tank. It is worthy to note here that ANP had demanded deployment of army personnel for ensuring transparency in the by-polls which was not met by the provincial government. In a press conference, ANP leader Shahi Syed has announced to boycott the by-polls. He said that the party will observe black day tomorrow. On the other hand, Election Commission said that by-polls would be held as per schedule. Earlier, pillion riding was banned in PS-94 Karachi due to by-election being held tomorrow.Sector Commander Sachal Rangers Brigadier Waseem Ayub has said that there are chances of a suicide attack during the by-election however security arrangements have been planned to handle any unpleasant incident.Talking to Dunya News, advisor to Chief Minister Sindh Sharmila Farooqi told that the tomorrows election is very critical and security plans have been devised for it. She said that Rangers are doing their job. At least 3000 police personnel have been deployed in the constituency. More security personnel are deployed on sensitive polling stations. Flag march would also be carried out. She added that Inspector General Sindh and CCPO Karachi would personally monitor the whole situation. She hoped that the election would be held peacefully.
