Two convicts sentenced to 15 years in prison over possession of explosives, arms

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi has sentenced as many as two convicts to 15 years in prison over possessing explosives and illegal weapons.

During the hearing, the suspects were presented before the court. The investigation officers stated that the detainees were involved in terror-related activities including possession of illegal arms and explosive material.

The court after observing evidence sentenced Salman and Ishtiaq to 15 years in prison and ordered to follow the directives.

Earlier, the culprits, belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), were apprehended from Karachi’s North Nazimabad area in 2012. The security personnel also confiscated huge cache of weapons and volatile material from them.

The senior police official stated that Karachi operation was launched by government which is giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists have been held so far.

He said that stern action will be continued until the end of last criminal.
