MQM rejects Mustafa Kamal's allegations

Terming Kamal's allegations as a new episode of a commercial movie, MQM rejected 'Minus-1' formula
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Terming the allegations of former Karachi Mayor Mustafa Kamal’s allegations against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as the ‘latest episode of a commercial movie’, MQM Rabita Committee rejected the ‘Minus-1’ formula, reported Dunya News.
In a telephonic news conference from London and Karachi, MQM Rabita Committee warned the ‘establishment’ to avoid attempts to divide MQM leadership and bring in artificial leadership. MQM Rabita Committee Convener Nadeem Nusrat said that repeated allegations against MQM chief Altaf Hussain didn’t stop the people of Karachi from voting MQM. He added that MQM’s voters were ridiculed today.
Nusrat said that Altaf Hussain never allowed any of his relatives to takeover a party position. “It was MQM chief who made a telephone operator as Karachi Mayor”, he said. He wondered when action would be taken against those cutting throats of the people of Lyari. “We request the establishment to talk directly to Altaf Hussain instead of operating from behind the scenes”, he said.
“When the establishment can talk to those who have left the mainstream politics then why can’t it talk to MQM chief who is still in the mainstream? Altaf Hussain’s past and present is before everyone’s eyes. We are not worried about anything. We are with our leader”, said Nadeem Nusrat. He requested the workers to remain peaceful and united. “There is no tough time on the party. We are stronger than the past”, he said.
Talking on the occasion, MQM Karachi Rabita Committee member Dr. Farooq Sattar said that the workers had unshakable confidence in Altaf Hussain’s leadership. “The entry and press conference of 2 people, their timing and all the other elements exposed the conspiracy. Same allegations were leveled during the election campaign. Such conspiracies were hatched in the past as well and they only meant to implement the ‘Minus-1’ formula”, said Sattar.
He added that MQM was not responsible for the ills of the system but could prove helpful in providing the solution. “Where did the mandate earned by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 2013 go in 2015? Even today’s press conference was welcomed only by the rejected political parties”, he said. The MQM leader said that the allegations about MQM’s links with Indian intelligence agency RAW have been leveled in the past as well. “Thousands of workers fled the persecution in 90s and some of them went to India too. How many were brought back from South Africa? Had we been RAW agents, could we be allies of former President Pervez Musharraf?” the MQM leader said.
MQM Rabita Committee cancelled the basic party memberships of Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani.
