MULTAN (Dunya News) - Revoke taxes otherwise cable will be shut throughout  Punjab, cable operators warned Punjab government on Wednesday.

According to the details, General Secretary Cable Operator Association of Pakistan (COAP) Chaudhry Tahir Javed said that Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif  must immediately revoke taxes levied on cable operators, otherwise cable operators will shut cable services in whole of Punjab.

In a press conference accompanied by cable runners of southern Punjab, Javed stated that Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) had committed not to close any system yet authorities closed five systems in Lahore during the last week without any reason whereas new taxes were also imposed, upon which cable operators are in protest.

The General Secretary of COAP said that they demand from CM Punjab to lift the taxes. He stated that in opposition to the taxes levied, they will close the cable service of whole of Punjab tomorrow evening from 7pm to 10pm and if the government still does not agrees to their demands then the cable system will be terminated after seven days for an undefined perioid of time.
