Cable operators threatened to suspend cable broadcasts by Thursday if tax not revoked

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Cable Operators Association announced to protest against Punjab Revenue Authority on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, head of all Pakistan Cable Operators Association, captain Jabbar had demanded from Punjab government to revoke tax levied on cable operators. He warned that the broadcasts will be suspended if the government didn t negotiate the tax with them by Thursday.

All Pakistan Cable Operators Association head, Captain (R) Jabbar, in press club today said that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif must take notice of the tax imposed on cable operators. "Punjab Revenue Authority is trying to grab cable operators", he said.

Cable Operators Association leaders warned Punjab government that broadcasts will be suspended on Thursday as a symbolic protest. "And if the demands were not met then protest will be extended countrywide", they said. Moreover, cable operators  leader said that public was being notified of the closing of broadcasts in anticipation.
