Karachi: Several arrested as LEA's crackdown against crime continues
Rangers arrested 5 suspects including a terrorist, a militant and 3 others during raids.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Several suspects were arrested Tuesday night as the Law Enforcement Agencies’ (LEA) crackdown against crime continued throughout the city.
Police arrested 2 extortionists from Garden area. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) South, ammunition including rifle and grenades have been recovered from the suspects.
An injured suspect and his 3 accomplices were apprehended from Mehmoodabad and Korangi area during police action. The arrested suspects were involved in numerous cases of robbery and street crimes.
Rangers arrested 5 suspects including a terrorist, a militant and 3 others during raids in Khokhrapar and Mujahid Colony areas.
Rangers have also arrested 2 kidnappers from Yousaf Goth area. Ammunition was also recovered from the suspects.
Police also took 10 people into custody during a house by house search operation in Guzri Defence. An interrogation of the alleged suspects under custody is under way according to the police.
Meanwhile a street criminal Sher Afzal was caught by the citizens in Gul Bahar area of Nazimabad. The enraged mob thrashed the culprit before handing him over to the Authorities.
According to the police, ammunition and stolen cash and a motorcycle were found from the suspect while his accomplice managed to escape however.
