Lahore: Shopkeeper killed by alleged police brutality, traders protest

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Traders on Thursday protested against the alleged killing of a shopkeeper by police brutality. The traders protested against the alleged police torture in front of Lahore’s railway station and blocked the road with burning tyres.
According to the details, police raided a shop in Pan Mandi area of Lahore on information of illegal selling of Indian ‘Gutka’. Police sources say that the officers exchanged harsh words and shoving with the shopkeepers during which a store owner, identified as Akhtar Ayub, suffered a heart attack. Police say that the store owner was immediately shifted to a hospital but could not be revived.
On the other hand, traders of the area claim that the shop owner died due to the police brutality.
