Shahid Zulfiqar appointed as Nandipur power project CEO

PM approved the appointment, temporary charge of the project withdrawn from MD Tariq Bhatti

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Shahid Zulfiqar has on Friday been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nandipur power project. Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif approved the appointment and the temporary charge of the project was withdrawn from MD Tariq Bhatti, reported Dunya News.

According to the spokesperson for Ministry of Water and Power, three names had been suggested by the directors of Nandipur power project, as per the standard operating procedure. The names included Shahid Zulfiqar, Zia Imran and Ismail Naqvi. Shahid Zulfiqar’s name was on top of the list sent to PM by the board. PM approved Shahid Zulfiqar’s appointment.

The spokesperson told that Shahid Zulfiqar has a 30-year experience of power sector, working in power companies in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Middle East. He remained the CEO of Pakistan’s second largest power company for 13 years and also enjoyed top positions at an American company for 17 years.

Ministry of Water and Power had advertised this post last year. The additional charge with MD Tariq Bhatti has also been withdrawn after the permanent appointment of the CEO.
