Overseas Pakistanis condemn Bacha Khan University attack
NAP aimed at bringing reforms to tighten security was chalked out after APS attack
NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Pakistani community in United States (US) New York City’s Brooklyn held a prayer gathering for the martyrs of Bacha Khan University attack.
The community members held a vigil in remembrance of the victims and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
Pakistan Council General, inter-faith leaders and Pakistan-born police officials were among the participants.
On the other hand, a ceremony was organised in United Kingdom s (UK) Oldhem in connection with the Charsadda attack. The speakers at the event stressed the need to stay united in tough times. The Pakistani community there condemned the attack in strong terms and paryed for the departed.

On January 20, Bacha Khan University in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Charsadda was attacked by Taliban in the early hours. The attack claimed 21 lives including a PhD scholar.
Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs while US department also expressed solidarity.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed “ruthless” reaction to the second major attack on Pakistan’s education system.
Earlier in December 2014, extremists stormed an army-run school in Peshawar and martyred more than 130 persons, mostly students. The government had announced a National Action Plan (NAP) after the deadliest attack.
The strategy aimed at bringing reforms in seminaries and tightening security across Pakistan.
Interior Ministry took steps in the matter and developed a close collaboration among intelligence and law enforcement agencies to counter insurgencies.
