Governor Punjab issued Local Bodies Amendment Ordinance on the advice of Provincial government
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Governor of Punjab issued the Local Bodies Amendment Ordinance on Wednesday, reported Dunya News.
According to the new ordinance, the selection of mayors or chairman of the local bodies will not be carried out through secret ballot but on the basis of open division. After the implementation of the new ordinance, elections will not be held on special seats but according to the proportioned representation. The eligibility for the seat of a technocrat will be at least graduation degree, three years experience and if the candidate will be a masters degree holder, then the condition of experience will not be necessary.
