Accountability court extends Dr Asim's remand by ten days

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Accountability court (AC) on Monday has extended remand on alleged corrupt former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain by ten days.

Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman was presented before the accountability court today.

Separately, Jinnah Hospital has issued report of Dr Hussain s MRI test that was conducted earlier on his complaint about pain in the back. The report declares Dr Hussain physically fit and opposes statement of the accused.

On the other hand, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has geared up to launch another reference against the former minister. Dr Hussain had allegedly crashed stock market in 2008 with help of the then finance minister.

Sources privy to the bureau has said that investors had lost billions of Rupees in 2008 as shares value had fallen drastically.

A terror case against Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) member is ongoing in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) after a case was registered in Karachi’s North Nazimabad Police Station in November 2015.

Sindh HEC Chairman is alleged of providing shelter to target killers and terrorists in his hospital, Dr Ziauddin Hospital.

Sindh Police have given a clean chit to the terror accused while Pakistan Rangers, the law enforcement agency which had apprehended the alleged criminal is determined against Dr Asim.
