Resolution against extension in PIA privatization ordinance approved in senate

Lawmakers set a bad example by not thinking of national interest: Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate approved the resolution against the extension in privatization ordinance of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday with consensus, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, the opposition has moved a motion in senate against the extension of privatization ordinance of PIA, signed by 52 members while government had submitted the petition to postpone the resolution forwarded by opposition. Chairman senate Raza Rabbani rejected the petition of government and approved resolution against the presidential ordinance with consensus.
Resolution was signed by leaders of Pakistan peoples’ Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) , Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat Islami (JI) and Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PMLF). The federal minister of finance, Ishaq Dar said on this occasion that unfortunately today the lawmakers set a bad example by not thinking of national interest. He said that he can challenge that PIA will not be privatized. Senator Mushahidullah said that the opposition did point scoring by moving the motion against the ordinance. He said that they respect the decision of opposition but the problems cannot be solved like this.
