ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said the most difficult issues of the world can be resolved with statesmanship, adding that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit was a goodwill gesture, Dunya News reported.

Talking exclusively to Dunya News at the Islamabad Airport upon returning from Zhob, PM Nawaz said he hopes the spirit of goodwill gestures will continue in both India and Pakistan.

He said it is with the resolution of conflicts that the people of both countries can prosper. Quoting United States (US) president Barack Obama as an example, PM Nawaz said it is with wisdom and statesmanship that the President Obama resolved the nuclear conflict with Iran.

The Prime Minister said he is happy that everyone laid the foundation of projects of national importance together. He said the prosperity of Pakistan will begin from Balochistan, adding that his government won’t rest until a motorway is formed along the coastal highway from Gwadar to Karachi.

He said the projects will complete by the year 2017, adding that the 243 kilometer long road will complete by April 2016.

Nawaz Sharif said Rs 150 to 200 billion will be spent for development of roads in next 3 to 4 years and that Gwadar will emerge as the best port.

He said a ‘masterpiece’ airport is also being built in Gwadar. PM said Pakistan has to build trade corridors reaching Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and that the 194 kilometer road from Gwadar to Hoshab will complete by next month.

Accompanying the PM were federal ministers Abdul Qadir Baloch, Jam Kamal, National Security Advisor General (retd) Nasir Janjua, political leaders Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Mir Hasil Bezenjo, Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Mian Iftikhar Hussain.

Earlier, PM Nawaz laid the foundation of the western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Prime Minister addressed a gathering at the foundation stone laying cereomy of the western route of the Chine-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The premier said that Pakistan’s progress would begin from Balochistan.

PM Nawaz said that Gwadar-Karachi coastal highway would be made a state-of-the-art motorway. He thanked the political parties for support of the CPEC. The PM said that several projects would complete by end of 2017.

A 243 Kilometre (Km) long road would be completed by April 2016 while the funding would be drawn from the development package, he added.

The Prime Minister said that around Rs 150 billion to Rs 200 billion would be spent in the coming three to four years on construction of roads. Feasibility reports of projects in Mach, Kharan and other areas are being prepared to initiate construction as soon as possible, he added.
