Hollow promises: Road blocked for KP Chief Minister's convoy

Sher Shah Suri road was completely blocked for traffic for ten minutes.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Two days after saying ‘no’ to VIP movements on the roads, the authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ripped apart the provincial government’s orders and blocked Sher Shah Suri road for Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s convoy, Dunya News reported.

The road was completely blocked for traffic for ten minutes as the Chief Minister’s convoy left from Archives Hall. Long queues of vehicles could be witnessed and motorists looked perturbed due to the security protocol.



Earlier on December 26, Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued a notification, stating that the provincial governwemnt has abandoned undue and extra protocol, restrictions and block o public roads during VVIP and VIP visits throughout the province to avoid any inconvenience to the general public.



The notification was issued after a 10-month-old child died outside the Civil Hospital Karachi apparently due to security protocol for PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, who were present inside the hospital to inaugurate a traume center.

Father of the child alleged that he was barred from enterting the hospital and his daughter died because she could not receive timely treatment for measles complications.
